RE+FINELet’s connect
A RE+CIRCLE originated concept

From waste oils.
To clean diesel.

Developing modular facilities to turn marine and industrial waste oils into EN 590 clean diesel for direct use in compatible diesel vehicles. The technology’s diesel output has been TÜV-tested.

THE STARTING MATERIAL

Used oil still holds
resource value.

Marine vessels and industrial operations are key sources of used lubricants and oil residues. RE+FINE focuses on qualifying these waste-oil streams for fuel production.

The starting point is a clear feedstock profile: what the oils contain, how consistently they can be supplied and how they are collected through ports and industrial networks. The facility design follows that assessment.

THE PROPOSED PATHWAY

Prepare. Refine.
Qualify the diesel.

A continuous processing approach connects waste-oil supply with the fuel specifications buyers require.

01 / PREPARE

Know the input.

Assess the oil composition and contaminants, then define the pretreatment needed for a consistent, suitable feedstock.

QUALIFIED WASTE OILS
02 / REFINE

Recover its fuel value.

Apply thermal and catalytic processing, condensation and refining to recover diesel-range hydrocarbons from the prepared oil.

CONTINUOUS PROCESSING
03 / QUALIFY

Ready for direct use.

The intended output is EN 590 clean diesel, ready for direct filling of compatible diesel vehicles. The technology’s output is TÜV-tested; each facility still needs its own quality controls and approvals.

CURRENT STAGE · SAFE B

RE+FINE is in Design & Feasibility. The current work brings together feedstock characterisation, process design, site requirements and the commercial case for a regional facility.

  1. AEarlier stage

    Stakeholder Alignment

Identify and align key partners, work towards letters of intent and establish the stakeholder foundations.

  2. BCurrent stage

    Design & Feasibility

Confirm the commercial structure. Validate costs, revenues and the operating model.

  3. CNext stage

    Commitments

Negotiate contracts, complete the financial model and prepare for the Final Investment Decision (FID).

RE+CIRCLE develops circular industrial projects in cooperation with regional and industrial partners.

LET’S CONNECT

Shape the next
oil-to-fuel facility.

Help shape the project at SAFE B. We’re developing three partner conversations:

Marine and industrial oil suppliers
Shipowners, port reception operators and industrial collectors: oil composition, available volumes and collection arrangements.
Technology and site partners
Processing equipment, facility locations, utilities and permitting requirements.
Fuel offtake partners
Product specifications, distribution needs and potential purchase arrangements.
